Reality Check

Reality Check Ms Paltrow !

This is just hilarious.
I remember liking her when she was in Shakespeare in Love.
Those days are long past.

Enjoy the laughs ..

If

If I were here
I would not complain .

If this were mine
I would be content.

If I were back here in my bedroom in BA, I would not mind

If this was my view again, I might be happy

These are all from her blog, I have been going into fits wanting everything I have seen on this blog tonight!
Some of the decorating I can do here but mostly I am feeling even more in love with the idea of selling my house and moving to an apartment and decorating it in some similar style. . in Paris would be nice, I will settle for New York City ..

Go look at the blog and see what I mean .. you have to remember to come up for air. Or a drink and a bite to eat ..
This is Glamorous is a wonderful blog.

A Recipe

I know I know, I don't really cook.
But now and then something comes along that is so appealing and no one else is gonna cook it for me, if you know what I mean.
So I made this , on the weekend, with company ... so this review is not just me ... this soup is Delicious.
It is ridiculously easy to make, quick to make ( a priority in my limited attention span for cooking) and so very tasty ... did I mention it is pretty too ?

Carrot Soup  ( or you can just call it zoop)

INGREDIENTS
2 pounds of carrots, cut into large chunks. You can peel them or not - I usually don't!
2 onions, peeled and quartered
1 tablespoon fresh thyme, or 1 teaspoon dried
4 cups chicken broth
Salt and pepper to taste
Your choice of toppings - bacon, toasted nuts and sauteed bread crumbs are all wonderful!
DIRECTIONS
1. Bring the chicken broth to a simmer in a large pot. Add carrots, onions and thyme and simmer until carrots are soft, about 15-20 minutes.
2. Transfer to a blender and process until smooth - you will probably have to do this in batches. Return to the pot.
3. Season to taste with salt and pepper, and if the soup is too thick for you, thin it with a little more chicken broth. Reheat over low heat until it is nice and hot.
4. Ladle into bowls with your choice of toppings - and plain is wonderful too!

Now go to Framed Cooks and enjoy all of her recipes.

Once Upon A Time

That was our Dining table when before we moved to Argentina.
I should have kept it, I might have needed it in the bathroom .

I even have the chandeliers. .

They say Spring will be here soon.
I will Believe it when I see it.

Meanwhile, I will continue to mull over the possibilities of living in an apartment in a town, or another house in another town.
But mostly I will keep looking at Decor magazines and making a huge list of Things I Will Do in the next home I live in.

Minette the Kitten likes the idea of pillows on the floors.
And lots of toys.
I will keep that in mind.

In the meantime ..
how big is that bathroom ??

Shopping or Something

Have I mentioned that my daughter is Wonderful ? Priceless ? A girl any mother would be proud of ...

For my birthday , coming soon ...
She is going to fly up here to stay with me .. we will go Shopping, Lunching, Shopping, Sightseeing, Shopping and Eating out maybe .. since I never do that now that I am alone.
(coffee shops don't count)

I just went on Sephora and had a grand old time online shopping but while that is ok... there is nothing like wandering for hours through a huge mall and getting ideas.

Pottery Barn ... I get such good ideas from the way they set up their  room displays... I might have to get a new blanket or something ..

Williams Sonoma ... I might need a new cup or bowl or something ..

DSW .... I know I will need a shoe or two ..

Those Discount beauty places where I can wander through shelves and shelves of Shampoo and Conditioners ! ...

J Crew ... a tee shirt or sweater or something ....

The Gap ... I know I need a pair of jeans that fit or something ...

So many stores, so little time ..
I hope she feels like shopping .. or something .

Spaces -

The light and open space , no clutter, I heart this kitchen !
If I lived in an apartment, this would be the look I would want.
Light, lots of light and clean open space.
When I was 19, I lived in LA .. on a street much like this .. another lifetime ago.
