This is where I get to say anything I feel like saying and you get to agree with me.
We will also share stories and chocolate if you have any.
Naps are also encouraged, if shopping is out of the question.

I Heart Sephora

Do you shop at Sephora ?
I used to shop in the Sephora in Florida, then when we went to Argentina, I used to order online then have the package shipped to a relative and when they came to visit, they brought me my goodies.
Now I am back in the US and Hey ! Sephora ! did you miss me ??

So far, I am waiting for my second order of make-up, mascara, perfume and all kinds of lotions and potions.
Shopping online has become normal for me. I no longer feel that I have to sniff it first or touch it.
Of course, I do like to shop in person and I still enjoy touching everything ... even if my husband still tells me to stop touching everything.. but I love having the delivery man come to the door , 3 days after I called or went online and there is my Sephora !

No, this sounds like someone asked me to say this but nope .. this is me being happy.

So if you shop there or get it online, what are the products you like best ?
Do you ever buy the perfume that they send samples of ?
What did you order and regret ?

So far, the biggest regrets are the things I continue to do anyway, I order lipsticks that I know will be wrong but want them anyway .. they all live in the bottom drawer in the bathroom where unwanted strange colored lipsticks go to stay until they can be adopted.

I am hesitant to try perfumes online, but I usually wear the same thing for years now so my scent shopping is mostly in bath products.
I am a sucker for a good bubble bath, bath melts , after bath lotions etc.

So ... do you shop at Sephora ? if not , where do you get your lotions and potions ?

Cooking

I am such a Loser.

I get all these magazines in the mail now, half of them with recipes in them that look so good !
I have this bookcase in my kitchen just for cookbooks !
I have so many cookbooks. .. I might need a cookbook library.
I have file folders in drawers full of recipes that I have cut out of magazines ... for years !

I never use recipes when I cook.

Oh yes, someone will say I made this or that and I say "Ooooh, how did you make it ?"
They say I will send you the recipe or I even write it down right there ... take it home, stick it in a drawer and it lies forgotten until someone throws it away .. or I find it lying in the bottom of my purse a year later .. and cannot make out the handwriting.
Why do I always scribble when writing down recipes??

I have aprons.
Yes, aprons.

One has stains on it.
I think my husband wore it as a joke.
I never wear an apron, do you?
But ... I have aprons.

I have all these beautiful pots and pans.
Some enamel and colorful and heavy and expensive and some Farberware from ancient times.
I have huge fry pans and all other sizes too.
I have one that fits .... oh, maybe 2 eggs.

I use the same pot to cook and boil water in that I acquired when I married my husband.
I use the smallest non-stick fry pan for just about everything.
I use the same pot for pasta, sauce, soups and whatever it is that is cooked on the stove.

So basically I use 3 old pots.

I have this amazing kitchen.
It was very well planned.
It has bay windows at the counter which is shaped in a horseshoe shape.
So I have a complete view of the back garden... pool, trees, skies, deer and chipmunks and all.
The stove is glass on top of the counter, easy peasy to use and clean.
It is radiant... hot instantly.
I have used it a few times.
I boiled water.

The double sinks with garbage disposal are stainless steel and very nice.
I hate using them because they are shiny and look better empty and dry.

I am getting a new dishwasher because we got hoodwinked ( as usual) by a crafty seller and a clueless home inspector ... The dishwasher did not work.
It made noises and pretended to work by splashing a little water around and humming loudly.
But it is dead.
My new dishwasher is arriving this week.

I like using paper plates.

But I love to stand at that window in the mornings and watch the birds squabble over the feeders and the cute little chipmunks scavenging at the bottom and waiting for that deer to come back and take a nap in the corner of the garden in the shade of that big old tree.

Who needs to cook with all that going on ??

Behind the Times

The Blue Tree NY

My goodness, what expensive junky looking stuff !
Now I like New York City boutiques and I love going down to Soho and buying something that I cannot live without.
I wear anniversary gifts bought in Soho boutiques, I wear summer outfits bought in Soho boutiques and I like to eat in Soho restaurants, bistros and cafes.

But really, even I .. the one who will find all kinds of reasons why I cannot live without a piece of jewelry, cannot see paying the asking price for just about anything in this place .

Is it because the owner is an actress, married to an actor ? Does that make things more valuable ? Does that make shoppers wanna have it ?

I guess I have grown out of this phase in Shopping Life .. I buy things for their look or value to me or for some kind of specialness that the object / clothing/ car ... brings to me .. but I also know when junk is junk.

And not to look like I am picking on this person and her shop ...

Lisa Rinna, plastic surgery addict, married to a movie star ,  cute shop but have you seen her face ??
I guess if Lisa Rinna can sell clothes, then this boy ( Tony Alva)  can sell clothes... at least he can skate board.
Venus Williams is into Interior Design ?  OK.
Jessica Alba sells baby clothes .. okay, at least she has baby experience

It isn't enough that you can afford to buy a small country, you have to be a shop owner too.
And here I thought I would go volunteer at the Equestrian Advocates where people donate time and money to saving , housing and caring for horses.
I must be so behind the times.
