My friend, Billy, went to Italy. Umbria to be exact.
Now I have had to add Umbria to my list of places I must go and also
Places that might be a good place to live...
At least part of the year .. I can see me, doing much as Billy did, flying through the countryside in a small Italian sportscar .. yes, I can definitely see me ... there .. ciao !!photos : BQ/allposters

If I can't live in a village that looks like this ......
Maybe I will just paint everything white...

And buy lots of mirrors and play the music really loud .. while drinking champagne ~

City Life

I grew up in the Southern US where trees and "woods" and grass were everywhere.

We played in the yard, we played in the woods and we took it all for granted.

Now, I live in a city.

I have lived in other cities but this one has small areas of green and mostly paved, stone, buildings, roads, walls and not enough trees.

The parks are welcome places to remind me of what I miss.

There are days that I am content with City Life and looking forward to time spent on holidays where there is more green and less cement .

But then there are days my imagination goes wild and I imagine living in a wooded area, with perhaps a road such as this, leading to my home..

If ....

If I lived here, I would be walking down this street, with Pup and my husband, headed towards our favorite cafe , to be followed by a spot of shopping, before wandering on back to our flat ..

Inspiration

My taste in houses has always run towards the Center Hall Colonial , grand house sort .. growing up in the South, there were those large old homes with beautiful stair cases , huge porches and many rooms.

My daydreams about houses never take into account the boring details like keeping them clean, cost of heating and cooling and generally kill-joy sorts of thoughts.
I have started to really appreciate the "Glass" houses, long low homes with nothing but views from every room.

Over time, I have started to appreciate smaller homes. Smaller to me is not huge, but at least 3 bedrooms, what really means something to me these days is views and privacy.
Give me a tiny house on maybe 10 acres and I will be content.

I am inspired by magazines and newspaper articles on homes, I wish I could go back to school and study design or at least, learn more about it.

Instead, maybe I will just move again and practice what I have learned while learning from those who do the work. You know, Arts and Crafts style homes are very appealing too ..

Restless

I bet Pup would be thrilled to have a baby to play with.

I am starved for greenery. Our parks are not fulfilling , well, not completely. I think a forest might be needed with perhaps some water, a lake will do.

Been here, done that , would like to do it again.

Midnight in Paris

We saw this film today, Midnight in Paris.

Thank you , Woody Allen, for giving me yet another entertaining couple of hours and for increasing my longing to be in Paris.
Not the Paris of South America ( which is very fine ) but Paris , France.

Where the food might be a little better, where the city is so very beautiful and well, we know how wonderful Paris is, don't we ?
I just have to figure out how to get from Here to There ..
My husband says we will just go often on visits.

I am thinking this will be just a tease.

We will go for a few months and test the eau .. see ! I habla Francais !

I am freezing .. it is winter ... and a seriously cold one for Buenos Aires.
Pup and I are going to go look at my book , Paris Interiors .. who knows, I might need it one day !
