Ahhh , I love Maggie Smith .. I love Downton Abbey and having already seen this season, I can tell you, you are going to love it ! Love It !
I don't know about you but I am not sorry that Dan Stevens left the show / got killed off.
He said he was bored. Personally, I found him boring.
Now, his widow can be courted by all kinds of handsome men with hopefully more of a personality than her dear departed husband and perhaps, some dashing man will sweep her off her feet and she will maybe smile !
Not those tight little grimace-like smiles but a big grin.
I know , having seen the gentleman that she might smile at ... that I would be grinning from ear to ear.
Handsome. Mucho handsome.
So be prepared , bring your tea and crumpets and let's all watch Downton Abbey tonight.

I'm ready - will be glued to the telly tonight! Wish I could be watching it with you - Bob's not keen on period pieces . How did you see this new series already dear?
I didn't really think much of Lady Mary's guy either - a bit of a wimp and his watery eyes bothered me. She is lovely, but I agree her smile has been more or a smirk much of the time - she's definitely in need of a real, strong man - and that guy in the pic looks OK to me!!!
As for poor Edith, hopefully she'll get someone special too - she's the only one with any common sense!

Never watched a minute of it... You get a bit fed up with English period dramas when you live here - particularly as they often hark back to this age which was I'm afraid not that nice for those at the coalface. My family background was in the Labour movement of the 20s/30s with my Granddad a major pain in the arse of the "owners" he was a union general secretary!
