I have similar slip covers (white cotton duck) in my living room and love them! I had them custom made because I still love my old furniture better than new pieces.
FYI, had the fabric washed and dried twice at a commercial laundry before the seamstress made it up - this way I just throw them in the washer and drier with no shrinking concerns!
I can vouch for the peace and quiet of white rooms - and of course everything 'goes with' white upholstery so you can have lots of fun accessorizing etc.
