I used to "invite" Pup up onto the sofa . 
When he was younger and more spry, he was allowed on the bed. 
He never smelled like a dog, he was always groomed and clean and softer than any stuffed toy or baby blanket and he was warm on a cold night.
What more could you ask for ?


So these days, missing Pup, I notice other dogs and pets in photos of homes.
This caught my eye.


I have decided that when we move to our new home in our old country, I will get a new dog as soon as possible and any piece of furniture is fine for us and for the dog.
What is it for, anyway, make yourself at home ~
